Martina Rama is a recent UCLA graduate with a B.Sc in Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology. She is currently working under the supervision of Dr. Benjamin Bonavida at UCLA, writing a review exploring the putative crosstalk between RKIP and the BRCA1 tumor suppressor. She is also part of a student team working on a perspective about cancer immunobiology, and the ways in which cancers can overcome the body’s innate and adaptive immune responses. Her other academic interest, in addition to oncology and immunology, is the field of neurogenomics. She has three years of experience studying atypical parkinsonian diseases in the research laboratory of Dr. Brent Fogel at UCLA.
